Description
Gynaecological ultrasound evaluates the uterus, ovaries and pelvic structures via abdominal or transvaginal route. Includes colour Doppler study to assess pelvic vascular structures, useful in characterising ovarian and uterine masses and endometrial evaluation.

Duration
5-10 minutes
Preparation
Abdominal ultrasound: attend with a full bladder (drink 1 litre of water 1 hour before). Transvaginal ultrasound: no special preparation required.
